Are you looking for an educational visit with Howard County firefighters for a small group? The James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) in Marriottsville, Maryland is the place to go. This 46-acre facility houses the Education and Training sections of the Howard County Police Department's Fire and Rescue Department. It offers classrooms, simulation buildings, simulation accessories and training areas for Howard County staff and other public safety personnel.
The PSTC also has a large conference room available for meetings, seminars and conferences. An expert simulator technician is required when the building is used for fire simulation, along with other officers and ignition personnel to ensure safety and comply with department policy and NFPA guidelines. The Office is responsible for developing, managing, implementing and documenting all training for the professional and volunteer operational staff of the Department of Fire and Rescue Services. In addition, 13 School Resource Officers (SROs) are assigned to Howard County schools. Many of them act as coaches and mentors in various programs for young people.
